Faith In Action
Ours is a faith of “deeds, not creeds.”
We are diverse in faith, ethnicity, history and spirituality, but aligned in our desire to practice our faith in tangible ways. We are believers in what is good, what is right, and what is just.
We affirm seven Principles, the first of which is a deep recognition of each person’s inherent dignity and worth.
We Seek Justice. We are deeply committed to positive social change.
We have radical roots and a history as self-motivated spiritual people: we think for ourselves and actively object to what we believe is wrong. We have a track record of standing on the side of love, justice, and peace.
As an expression of our faith and values, we take our faith in action on relevant issues of social justice. Social justice is a spiritual discipline in UU congregations. Please join with us to make a difference in our families, our community and our World. Nurture your spirit while helping heal our World!
4th Saturday Distribution:
We are invested in helping the community, BUT the health and safety of our community matters most. We will have our distributions on our Alby Street side!
Each 4th Saturday of every month, We at First Unitarian Church of Alton live out our faith by donating personal care items for a distribution to those in need. The photo shown above lists the items that we usually need as donations for our drive. Dropping off any items can be done at the church, located at 110 E. 3rd Street in Alton, IL. You may also donate through Givelify, PayPal or send other payments to the church with 4th Saturday as the memo.
